How it works.

What a box is

A box is one festival, kept with your crew. You make one per event — “Lost Village 2026,” say — and it becomes the front page for the whole weekend: the build-up before you go, the shared roll and the bands while you’re there, and the developed memories once it’s over.

It lives on a private, unguessable link. Boxes are invite-only by default, so only the people you’ve waved in can see it. And it’s yours to keep — relive it, re-download it, bring it back to next year’s festival.

The three roles

Everyone in a box is one of three things, and the difference matters most for who counts toward your crew on a paid plan:

• The holder.That’s you, if you made the box. You host it, bring the crew, set who can see it, and close it when the weekend’s done. One holder per box.
• Members. The mates who are coming. They shoot the shared roll and log the bands right alongside you. Members are the ones who count toward your crew on a plan.
• Free followers. Family and mates watching from home — read-only, always free, and never counted toward your crew. They watch the build-up and, once it develops, the whole lovely thing.

Followers never see the undeveloped roll — nobody does. The photos stay locked away for everyone until you close the box.

The build-up

Long before the gates open, the box is already doing work. Wave in the crew first: each person you invite gets a secure link by email to land straight on the box — members to shoot and log, followers to watch along.

Then it’s a feature board that fills out as the weekend nears:

• Auto-fill from the festival’s site.Pop in the festival’s URL and we’ll go and read it — dates, lineup, the lot — so the Key Info card fills itself in rather than you typing it all out.
• The lineup, with “want to see” votes.Who’s playing, pulled from the festival’s own site — and everyone marks the acts they don’t want to miss, so the crew can plan around them.
• Weather. Wellies or sun cream? The outlook for the weekend, sharpening as it gets closer.
• The to-do list.A shared checklist for the crew — who’s bringing the tent, who’s on snacks — so nothing’s forgotten at the door.
• Getting there. Meeting points, lifts, trains and parking, with Google Maps slots so the where is a tap away, not a group-chat scroll.
• The meet-me map.Everyone in the crew gets their own little square on a map of the site, each with a daft three-word name. Lose the group? Just say the words and head for it — and it works with no signal once it’s loaded.
• The Memory Wall. An open space for the crew to pin messages, in-jokes and scribbles — and it stays in the box afterward.

At the festival

Once you’re in, two things matter. The first is the shared disposable camera — one roll for the whole crew. Everyone snaps away, and here’s the catch: every shot locks away the second you take it. No previews, no deleting, no peeking. The wait is the whole point.

The second is logging the bands. Tick off every act you actually caught as you catch it — give it a rating and a one-line note if you like. It all stacks up into your bands-seen archive, ready and waiting for when the box develops.

When it's over

When the weekend’s done, the holder closes the box. That’s the trigger — everything develops at once. The locked roll reveals, grain and all, and the bands you logged settle into the finished book.

On Pro, closing the box also conjures up the recaps:

• Your one-second film— everyone’s little clips, stitched into one daft, lovely montage of the whole crew.
• Festival Wrapped — a swipeable recap of the weekend: the bands you saw, the rarest set, the act of the weekend, properly yours to share.
• The Roundup — the warm written story of the weekend, with a few friendly superlatives thrown in.

And it’s yours for good — the whole box downloads as a keepsake you keep forever.

The annual pass

Festipal Pro is one annual pass, held by you — not per person, not per festival. Pay once and every box you make that year is the full keepsake: the film, your Wrapped, the whole roll and all of it. The mates you invite pay nothing.

If a pass ever lapses, you simply can’t record new festivals on a paid tier — but every box you’ve already made stays fully yours and fully accessible, forever. You never lose what you’ve kept.
